Les Caves du Louvre

A unique place to discover wine from a different angle

Erected by Trudo, the Sommelier of Louis XV, the Caves du Louvre is a place full of history and emotion. These exceptional cellars jealously preserved the wines served at the court of the King of France. Depending on the needs of the King, the bottles were brought to the Louvre by a tunnel and thus avoided the greed of thieves.

In the heart of Paris, the royal cellars are open all year to experience an exceptional sensory journey. Follow a pleasant and fun journey among the oak barrels, fruity aromas and historical vaults.

The cellars of the Louvre offers unaccompanied visits through a free application Wine in Paris available in French and English. In this fascinating scenery and friendly atmosphere, discover the French wine trade secrets and put your olfactory qualities to the test in the aroma room.

For a more intense experience, you can also attend mini guided tours every Saturday and Sunday from 14:00. A little « extra » for wine lovers, these tours include tasting moments in the company of a sommelier.

At the end of the visit, the Caves du Louvre shop offers you beautiful surprises: accessories, books on oenology, Trudo candles and more.

Best of all, you can customise the bottle of wine of your choice. Good idea for an original gift or to treat yourself.
